Jumping on the makeup buying hiatus!

Zombies!

As MOST of you know, I've recently moved into a new house and I have 3 kids. I also stay home all day with 2 of the 3 and my life is now officially insane! (It was before, but now even more.) Because of this, I've decided to go on a makeup hiatus. I'm not going to label it a "no buy" because I'll feel guilty breaking it, should I happen to find something on sale that I can't live without. (Like THAT would happen. *evil grin*)

So, I'm going to focus mainly on playing with the makeup I already have. I'm enjoying doing looks more these days over reviews. I think it's because I've swatched and seen SO MANY colors and a lot of them are so similar that I'm having a hard time finding something unique about them all. And that's sad. So, what I need to do is TRY them on my face, so I can tell a unique difference.

I, of course, will review products if they have already been sent to me, and if I am asked. (I'm not gonna be a total stick in the mud! GAH!) And I will continue to do swatches of things I ALREADY OWN! (Like the 10 new Zoya polishes I'm waiting on. THANKS MEGAN!)

I also want to focus on my new house, and the fact that I have like 10 rose bushes out front that need attending to during the summer, and a backyard that hasn't been maintained in I'd say at least 5 years, the screaming banshee that is my 2 year old son, and taking care of own mental and physical health (I am weaning myself off of Zoloft because the crap has decreased the desire to do one of the most important things in a married couple's life (besides sleep).) I'll probably avoid some potential fights with the husband as well.  So, all that said, we'll just see how it goes! I'll keep the blog fun and exciting..I just won't be spending as much money. (So, all you makeup companies out there, please do NOT make really awesome things that I may want, k? thanks.)

I leave you with this picture. It's how I'm feeling right now.

  1. Aww good luck. =] You're lucky to have some rose bushes, I wish we had some. I keep contemplating buying a couple to put in the front yard, but I haven't yet. Maybe this year! Have fun fixing up your house and making it your own. =D Think of it as putting makeup on your house. hehehe

  2. I just went on a rather strict 'no buy' myself, so I can understand how funny it feels to be on a makeup buying hiatus! I am looking forward to playing with what I own already though, so I'm excited to see lots of looks with your amazing collection! :)

  3. Your blog would be fun even if you never reviwed or swatched anything new! Sorry things seem a bit sucky right now, they'll get better, and you'll have roses and quiet(er) children and seksi teim :)

  7. The garden around my basement suite hasn't been touched in who knows how many years before I moved in. Someone planted some daffodils and moved out. The daffodils have spread throughout the entire garden and have even spread to the neighbour's.

I decided FAWK THIS and started trying to remove them yesterday with a little claw thing and my gloves. I thought it would be easy. It's not. It took me an hour to pull up the roots and bulbs and baby bulbs that were getting ready to emerge. Lots of rocks. After an hour I had only finished 4 square feet of the garden and pulled out about 10lbs of roots, weeds, rocks and other random crap.

    FECK.

  9. I personally look forward to seeing looks done with the cosmetics you already have. I love swatches, but it's fun seeing how others apply their cosmetics because it gives me ideas on how to improve what I am doing.

Aw Daffodils are my favorite flower,I'd love to have a garden full and I'm jealous and sad I am not your neighbor!
