RockABetty Beauty Review and SWATCHES!

Happy Friday Zombies!

Anything exciting happening this weekend? Me? Oh, I am just doing hopefully NOT MUCH!  Oh wait, I have 3 kids. NOT MUCH never happens. lol

Anyway, on to this review. I had a hard time writing it to tell you the truth. Most of you probably know by now that I try to find good in all things sparkly makeup. And when I first received my order from RockABetty Beauty, (found on Etsy) I was so excited to tear open the package and swatch the colors........until I swatched the colors.

I ordered the Reviewer's Special and a 3 gram mini jar of "Jezebel" which was labeled as a RABB bestseller- and received free shipping. (Enter code SHIPSPRING for free Spring shipping.)

While the packaging was adorable (everything was packaged in a vintage looking popcorn bag) and I was also sent a sample of "Pulse" blush, I just wasn't impressed with the shades that were randomly picked for me. I received Agony, Fleshy, Franken Stella, Floozy, and Snuff.

I was expecting so much from Jezebel, but couldn't find a good swatch online. it's described on RABB Esty store as: "JEZEBEL: A gorgeous charcoal shade packed with neon green glitter - it's super sassy."

While it IS super sparkly and shimmery, especially in the jar, I couldn't pick out the green glitter with my eyes unless staring at my hand once swatched. I really think this eyeshadow will be wonderful for a beginning makeup junkie who's looking for a smokey eye look.

I really did like Pulse blush. With my skin tone, I think it will look killer.

Floozy was up my alley as a gorgeous medium purple base with pink sparkles, but again, it wore off my hand very easily and the sparkles didn't stay. Now, again, since these were chosen at random, as a reviews special, I can't really base the quality on just these colors. These aren't normally colors I'd go for and would have to order some different "Wendi" colors from RABB to form a solid opinion on the company.

(eyeshadow swatched on-top of Hi-Fi Cosmetics Shadow Fix.)

Have you ordered from RockABetty Beauty? What are your favorite colors?

  1. I love the popcorn bag! I really like Snuff and Floozy... not the most Wendi colours but they do look pretty! The concept looks really nice.

  2. I like Snuff from this but that about it. Meh.

  3. I agree with you- they're not exactly "Wendi" colors... But the blush is beautiful!

I think my favorite from this group is Franken Stella just because it looks so unique :) I'm also kind of digging Agony. The others though, I think I'd need to see in person. The packaging is SUPER cute!!

  5. The color "Agony" reminds me a little bit of doggie tinkle... if you know what I mean! (Immature? Maaaybe...) Jezebel doesn't look as dark as I expected, but it is a fairly nice color, although you are right--can't really see the green. It looks a bit more gunmetal than anything. I would wear it for a lid color with some others to make it exciting.

  6. The colors are lovely but nothing catches my eye. Out of this bunch I like Fleshy and Floozy, the rest of the colors... I agree don't scream Wendi. =[ I've heard great things about RABB but I've avoided making any purchases because most of the shadows just don't jump out at me.

You did a good job with the review, the blush should look great on you. =]

  7. A *good* seller/company will strive to improve, and they might not know there's an issue unless customers tell them.

  8. Huh.
Jezebel didn't appear to live up to it's description at all. It looks like a washed out grey/sage grey. Not dark enough to be charcoal, no neon green glitter. Damn.

  9. I love Gold Digger. It;s such a sweet goldeny taupe. Weird cuz I love my brights but it's pretty sweet!

  10. Doggie Tinkle? I just swallowed my LifeSaver whole! lol

That's a bit of a bummer that the colors didn't stay sparkly or last long either.

  11. I haven't ordered anything from RABB. I don't even think I've browsed their Etsy shop. Guess nothing really sets them appart to me. The colors look great! Thanks for the review and swatches!

  12. I love RABB, and own many of their shadows. But, I know how you feel. I've had the same experience with other companies, and it's hard to gauge your satisfaction off of colors you don't enjoy in the first place.

I personally really like Snuff a lot, with many more that are amazing. RABB makes my favorite go-to nude/neutral, 80 Proof. I've only had good experiences, and the owner is super sweet. I hope you have better luck if you decide to try again!

  13. Their colours look nice but none of them really appeal to me. I have been meaning to try this shop and their primer looks really good. I'm just going to wait and see if they come out with more colours or collections which I want to get along with the primer.

  14. I only have a couple, but my favorite is Body Cast. Sadly though, it's being discontinued.

  15. Aw that's sad.
    I hate when that happens.
Hopefully if you try again, you'll have a better time.

  16. None of these are ~my kind of colours either, though I do think they're pretty. I'm sorry you were disappointed, but it's refreshing to hear a not-so-glowing review of this company.

  17. Nice swatch, those colours are lovely.

  18. The colors look like basic shades, but it sounds like maybe the base for the shades need tweaking if it wears off fast. Jezebel looks disappointing because the color description sounded awesome.
