Birthday Haul!

Zombies!

I received a couple of gift cards for my birthday and went on a little spree (squeeee) yesterday! Bath and Body Works was having a 1/2 off sale on ALL of their Fall scented items and I had a coupon for one free item with any $15.00 purchase. Needless to say, I scored BIG. I spent only $1.05 out of my own pocket!

If you haven't already, you MUST go check out the scent Secret Wonderland from B&BW. It reminds me of my beloved perfume Kat Von D's "Saint."

I also went to Target and picked up a few items. I had coupons for the Covergirl goodies, so I still have $4.00 left on my giftcard. Thrifty? YES! Covergirl's Lip Perfection lipstick in "Romance" is so super pretty. See me wearing it here. And who can resist a $1.00 ELF eyelash curler? lol

Have a great day my friends and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Altered Ego Cosmetics Evil Women and 3 Furies!

Happy ass Sunday Zombies!

I hope you're all having a great weekend. My birthday was great! Thank you for all the well wishes on Twitter and Facebook and here on the blog. <3

A few weeks ago I received some goodies to swatch for you all from Altered Ego Cosmetics. Just in time for Halloween, AEC came out with two mini collections called Evil Women Collection and the 3 Furies Collection.

Each collection came packaged very nicely in clam shells and in their own little baggies inside baggies.

Per the website:

3 Furies Collection:
(Inspired by Jess Townsend)

"When the Titan Cronus castrated his father Uranus and threw his genitalia into the sea, the Erinyes or Furies, emerged from the drops of blood. According to variant accounts, they emerged from an even more primordial level—from Nyx, "Night". Their number is usually left indeterminate. Virgil, probably working from an Alexandrian source, recognized three: Alecto ("unceasing", who appeared in Virgil's Aeneid), Megaera ("grudging"), and Tisiphone ("avenging murder"). Dante followed Virgil in depicting the same three-charactered triptych of Erinyes; in Canto IX of the Inferno they confront the poets at the gates of the city of Dis. The heads of the Erinyes were wreathed with serpents (compare Gorgon) and their eyes dripped with blood, rendering their appearance rather horrific. Other depictions show them with the wings of a bat or bird and the body of a dog." - Wikipedia

Alecto is the Furie with the job of castigating the moral crimes (such as anger), especially if they are against other people
-Alecto is a reddish-magenta with lots of shimmer.
(Talc, Mica, Zinc Stearate, Tin Oxide, Magnesium Stearate, Magnesium Myristate May contain: Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Bismuth Oxychloride )

Tisiphone punished crimes of murder: parricide, fratricide and homicide. A myth recounts how Tisiphone fell in love with Cithaeron, and caused his death by snakebite, specifically, by one of the snakes from her head.
-Tisiphone is a lilac-purple with lots of shimmer.
((Not Lip Safe) Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Carmine, Ferric Ferrocyanide, Magnesium Stearate)

Megaera is the cause of jealousy and envy, and punishes people who commit crimes, especially marital infidelity.
-Megaera is a dark purple-blue with lots of shimmer.
((Not Lip Safe) Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide, Ultramarines, Carmine, Calcium
Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica, Magnesium Stearate, Kaolin)

Evil Women Collection

Here at Altered Ego we just love Halloween and Fall, that's why we've decided to put together this devilish collection filled with colorful treats and one-of-a-kind accessories! Each collection features 5 eye shadows, named after some of the most depraved, malicious, and down-right evil women known to man. And what evil woman would be complete without a blood-red ribbon necklace holding the skeleton key to her dungeon of horror? (The key you receive will be the one pictured.)

Let's meet these Jezebels, shall we?

Erzsebet. She is one of the most infamous women in history. Accused of torturing and killing hundreds of girls and bathing in the blood of virgins in order to retain her youth.

-Erzebet is a gorgeous white with pink undertones, just like the youthful skin she so wickedly desired.

(Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Carmine, Boron Nitride, Magnesium Stearate)

Salome. Christian traditions depict her as an icon of dangerous female seductiveness or concentrate on her lighthearted and cold foolishness that, according to the gospels, led to her asking for John the Baptist's head on a platter.

-Salome is a golden shadow with silvery shimmer, much like the golden platter I imagine that John the Baptist's head was carried to her on.

(Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Yellow #5 Al Lake, Palmitic Acid, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Iron Oxide, Boron Nitride, Magnesium Stearate)

Vera Renczi. Vera was a Romanian serial killer who poisoned 35 individuals including her husbands, lovers and one son with arsenic during the 1920s and 1930s. She kept her victims in zinc-lined coffins in her wine cellar and confessed to the police that on occasion she liked to sit in her armchair amidst the coffins, surrounded by all of her former suitors.

-Vera is a reddish-orange created to mimic the color of Realgar, an arsenic sulfide mineral.

( Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Yellow #5 Al Lake, Palmitic Acid, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Iron Oxide, Carmine, Magnesium Stearate)

Lucrezia. Sometimes referred to as The Mother of Poisons, Lucrezia and her family have been the basis of several rumors that have persisted throughout the years . These rumors speculate as to the nature of the extravagant parties thrown by the Borgia family. Many of these are allegations of incest, poisoning, and murder on her part. And can you believe that she was buried in a convent? How scandalous!

-Lucrezia is a shimmery poison green.

((Not Lip Safe) Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide, Ferric Ferrocyandide, Calcium
Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica, Magnesium Stearate)

Morgan Le Fay. Morgana is a powerful sorceress in the Arthurian legend. Everyone seems to have their own story about this megalomaniacal fairy, but this one is my favorite: Morgan, unhappy with her husband takes a string of lovers until she is caught by a young Guinevere, who expels her from court in disgust. Morgan continues her magical studies under Merlin, all the while plotting against Guinevere. Later she uses her skills to foil Arthur's knights, especially Lancelot, whom she alternately tries to seduce and to expose as Guinevere's adulterous lover. Then she delivers to Arthur's court a magic drinking horn from which no unfaithful lady can drink without spilling, hoping to reveal the infidelity. Revenge, anyone?

-Morgan Le Fay is a deep satin green much like her dress in the painting Morgan le Fay, by Anthony Frederick Sandys.

((Not Lip Safe) Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Tin Oxide, Chromium Oxide Green, Ferric Ferrocyanide, Magnesium Stearate, Kaolin)

And swatches! (3 Furies are the first 3 on the top row from left to right.)

Flash

The colors are lovely and blended and applied easily. They are all shimmer with not much sparkle, which I kind of like. Of all of the colors, Vera Renczi is my favorite.  I also did not received the key which come with each Evil Women collection, so that is why it's not pictured. I also forgot to swatch the 3 sample baggies I received. I rock!

Overall, pretty colors and cute collections!

Hi Zombies!

I'm back with tonight's look!

My Mom purchased this palette for my birthday and I used it today. I was just running around with kids and went full on neutral. This is one of the only neutral palettes in my collection.

This palette is lovely. The colors are surprisingly pigmented and easily blended. I love the shimmery olive gold.

Zombies!

Tonight is night 88 of my 90 day challenge. Let's take a look at some Altered Ego Cosmetics "3 Furies" eyeshadow, shall we? The 3 Furies collection is a mini-collection from AE that came out for Halloween.

As per Altered Ego's Etsy page:

3 Furies Collection:
(Inspired by Jess Townsend)

"When the Titan Cronus castrated his father Uranus and threw his genitalia into the sea, the Erinyes or Furies, emerged from the drops of blood. According to variant accounts, they emerged from an even more primordial level—from Nyx, "Night". Their number is usually left indeterminate. *90 days of Makeup challenge! Day 89!*

Good evening Zombies!

Tonight's post is a little different in that I did the makeup look tonight and took pictures in different lightning. I found a setting on my camera for "close up" and I'm so excited the way these came out!

Anyway, here's my eye of the day for day 89!

Believe it or not, I've had "Grog Blossom" from Morgana Cryptoria for a whole year now (I know, because the haul I ordered it in arrived on 10/24/2010) and I've never actually worn it on my eyes! WTF? So, I decided to do a Halloween inspired eye with it. I love the pink sparkles throughout!

You can really see the sparklies if you make the image below larger!

The Goods:

TFSI
NYX jumbo pencil in "Milk"
Morgana Cryptoria "Grog Blossom" main lid and into lower lash line
Evil Shades "Zombified" above crease
Urban Decay "Blackout" blended into crease
random liner and mascara

I hope you're all having a wonderful evening!
