Winter Sunset, LOTD!

Happy almost 2012 Zombies!

This weeks showcase theme in my Facebook group Never Too Much Sparkle is "Winter Sunset" and I was anxious to give it a go.

I waited until tonight to post this look, as it's the end of a new year and feels like to me the sun is setting on 2011. It was a good year for me and my family, but I'm looking forward to what 2012 has to offer. I wish you all a healthy and prosperous new year! I won't ask you what you resolutions are, because honestly, if I make any, I never stick to them, so I'm not going to make ANY and see what happens this year. Maybe you'll do the same! ;) Anyway, on to the look!

The Goods:
TFSI as primer
NYX jumbo pencil in "Black Bean" as base. (I knew better and absentmindedly grabbed this anyway. It creases SO bad!)
Urban Decay "Evidence" main lid
MUA Shade 9 blended above crease
Urban Decay "Blackout" blended into crease
Combo of orange and red shades from my 76 palette from Coastal Scents above crease
Sugarpill "Goldilux" lower lash line
Jordana Cosmetics Fabuliner liquid liner in Black as upper liner (*product sent for consideration)
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in "Zero" water line

Lorac Cheek Stamp in "Hibiscus"

NYX "Fuschia" lip liner to outline
Covergirl "Romance" on upper lip
MAC "Impassioned on lower lip
Press lips together and BAZINGA!

I had fun with this look and hope you like it too!

Jordana EasyShine Glossy Lip Color Swatches!

Hey Zombies!

I've been given the opportunity to review some of Jordana Cosmetics new/old product lines, including the Easy Shine Lip Color line. I was sent 6 of the 12 colors to review and swatch for you all.

I received the following colors: Sugar Cookie, Raspberry, Watermelon Juice, Sugar Plum, Sweet Strawberry, and Berry Colada.

I am not too keen on the packaging. The product does not twist down all the way into the tube and when I put on the lids on, I inevitably scrape the product onto the lid- even if being careful. You can see below the damage I've done. lol

BUUUTTT.. the product very VERY nice. :D

Each color swatched on dry lips- this was two swipes.

Berry Colada

Sweet Strawberry

Sugar Cookie

Sugar Plum

Watermelon Juice

What I found most interesting about this product is that, in the tube these babies didn't come off as pigmented as they really are. I was expecting a hint of color and lots of shine, and what I got was lots of color with a hint of shine. Not to mention they are all scented and flavored. (Some of you may not like this aspect, but I did. Neither scent nor flavor is overpowering though.) They are also fantastically moisturizing!

Raspberry was the most impressive in my opinion. Baby pink and it only took about 2 swipes to get it THAT pink. I'm very excited about this.

When smelling each different gloss, I was transported back to middle school when I started dabbling in makeup. I was allowed to wear lip gloss and some blush back then and I always grabbed the scented flavored glosses of the day. (Which were no where near as pigmented as these are!) And I would absolutely recommend these to preteens and beginning makeup beauties.

These are such fun and for $1.99 online (prices may vary- I've only ever seen Jordana at my local Big K's) you can't really go wrong. I'll grab these on the days I'm not going full on makeup for a touch of color on my big old lips!

*products in the post were sent for consideration. Opinios are my own and 100% honest.*

A Reindeer Kissed My Face!

It's almost Friday! I've had this look waiting to be posted for a week now, so I guess it's better late than never. I SHOULD be a blogger who plans and preps posts and has a weeks worth of posts waiting to be posted so I don't manually do it each time, but I enjoy sitting down, writing, and publishing. It seems more personal to me that way.

Anyway! Let's get on to the look! I used lots of my new Darling Girl Cosmetics as well as some of my new Innocent+ Twisted Alchemy goodies! See my DGC haul HERE!

My Awesome Darling Girl Cosmetics Haul!

Hey Zombies!

I'm back more or less! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday or a wonderful weekend...depending on where you are. ;) I have some kick ass swatches for you today! I placed a Darling Girl Cosmetics order for myself as my Christmas present this year. I've been dying for some of the lippies for ages now and finally snagged them. BEST HAUL EVER...let's just cut right to the chase...(please make sure you click the images for maximum awesome-ness!)

I ordered:
  • Comet petit eyeshadow: Comet is a stunning matte wine base with a strong aqua/green shift and pink shimmers.
  • Mochi petit eyeshadow: Mochi is a a coral/pink with violet shift, blue diamond dust and a sprinkling of aqua sparks.
  • Haystacks Watercolor Paint Pot: Haystacks is a gorgeous golden bronze
  • Reindeer Kiss glitter (I NAMED THIS!) Iridescent hollo, red, pink with a touch of black for depth.
  • Jar of Hearts Holo-gloss: Jar of Heart is has a purple base with amazing purple "3D" pearl.
  • Strawberry Fields Liquid Kiss Luxe: It is a SUPER pigmented coral/red with lot's of gold and red holo-shimmers.
  • Poison Plum lip balm: Poison Plum has a deep berry base blended with loads of red and gold flash that meld together to make this gorgeous plummy wine shade.
  • Sugar Rush lip balm: Sugar rush is a sheer wash of baby pink with gold shift. A perfect everyday kind of color! Bubblegum flavored, but not sweetened.
  • Paradise City lip balm: Paradise City is a vivid coral pink with shimmer.
  • Holly Jolly holo-gloss: Holly Jolly is a pigmented true red loaded with color shifting glitter that shifts from gold, green to blue.
  • Coraline Liquid Kiss Luxe: Coraline is a gorgeous pinky coral with pink sheen and a hint of pink holo-shimmers.
  • Zombie holo-gloss: Zombie is a beautiful sheer cranberry base with gorgeous blue and copper holo-shimmers.
  • I received Luna Lovegood, Taupe ala Mode, Prancer, and Virgin with my order.

All the pretty little jars!

Just look how Reindeer Kiss shines!

The lippies!

And with flash!

Lippie swatches! Holly Jolly= pure awesome. I love the fact that it has strong green and gold sparks throughout and they are VERY visible on the lips. I was a little disappointed in Paradise City. It wasn't as pigmented as the others and I had a hard time getting it to apply evenly. But other than that, I'm super happy with my lippies!

Eyeshadow and blush swatches! Glitter-gasm? YES!

Close up of each. Mochi is so pretty with its purple sparkles!

Comet is the most amazing eyeshadow! A strong wine base with a green shift and green sparkles. It is so so freaking cool! I don't own an eyeshadow like it!

Check out the duochrome in "Virgin"...very gorgeous blush. I may end up with a full size of this at some point. Haystacks is goes on very pigmented and creamy, but dries quickly with a shimmery finish. It looks like it would be great to use as a base or alone as an eyeshadow. It also washes off extremely easily!

One more close up of Comet and Reindeer Kiss for good measure!

Did you snag an order from the Darling Girl holiday collection this year? What are your favorites?

!Reverse Smoky Eye Showcase for NTMS!

Last week, we had a little "showcase" or "challenge" in my Facebook group Never Too Much Sparkle! to create a look that was "Reverse Smoky Eye using Red and/or Green" themed. It was completely open to interpretation and was SO much fun seeing what everyone came up with. This was by far the most participation in our showcase yet. I wanted to share the looks with all of you!

(For the ladies who did a blog post with their look, click on their names to be directed to their blogs and see the full posts.)

Another great showcase! Thank you ladies! :D
