Frosty Pink, Black, and Silver + Ombre lips!

Good afternoon Zombies!

I hope you've all been well! It's been quite an interesting Fall here in New Mexico! 9 degree weather? What's that!? We've had it and I've been freezing.....

To go along with the icy weather, I thought I'd do a dramatic icy makeup look for fun. I threw some ombre pink and black lips in for good measure! I quite like the final look, as the ombre lips made me feel fierce! ;)

The Goods:
TFSI as primer
Milani "Lovely Frost" Shadow Eyez as base and in water line
Silver from the Wet N Wild "Blue Had Me at Hello" palette on main lid
Matte and glittery black (mixed) from the Wet N Wild "Blue Had Me at Hello" palette in crease
Hi-Fi Cosmetics "Sound Check" for pink above crease, inner corner, and on lower lash line
Fyrinnae "Moon Child" as highlight
Random liner and mascara

Cheeks:
MAC "Fleur Power" blush

Ombre lips:
MAC "Candy Yum Yum" as base
Jordana Cosmetics Glitter Rocks eyeliner in "Black Rocks" as outline

Press your lips together to transfer the black into the pink. Use a lip brush to blend the black more evenly into the pink to create the ombre effect. Once you've done that, outline the lips once more with the black.

And there you have it! Easy peasy ombre lips.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

NEW! Milani Cosmetics Limited Edition Shadow Eyez!

Good afternoon Zombies!

I'm SO excited about this post! Milani Cosmetics is coming out with 6 new Shadow Eyez for the upcoming holiday season (they will be released in November) and I couldn't wait to share them with you!

The 6 new shades are:
Charming Black: Shimmer finish
Midnight Romance: Shimmer finish
Plum Amour: Pearl finish
Romantic Violet: Pearl finish
Snowy White: Matte finish
Lovely Frost: Metallic finish

Swatches!

This batch of Shadow Eyez from Milani are so pretty! Obviously, "Snowy White" is your standard white matte shade but the rest of the colors are unique and fun. "Charming Black" and "Midnight Romance" have awesome sparkles in them. "Plum Amour" and "Lovely Frost" both have an amazing metallic quality to them (even though the description of  "Plum Amour" is that it has a Pearl finish) and are smooth and creamy when applied. The only one of this group I had issues with was "Romantic Violet". It isn't very pigmented and took quite a bit to get a good swatch; which I guess is something you'd expect from a pearl finish, but I wasn't extremely impressed with it.

These last a really long time! I wore my swatches around on my hand for a good 8 hours after I swatched them and the hearts looked just as good 8 hours later as when I first applied them. There was slight wear and tear and "Romantic Violet" had worn off the most.

These are wonderful to wear alone has an all over eyeshadow, to line your eyes with, or to use as a creamy base under eyeshadow to make your eyeshadow POP!

Here I lined my eyes with "Charming Black"- upper liner and "Midnight Romance"- lower lash line.

This collection will be available at select CVS, Meijer and HEB stores. It will also be available at www.milanicosmetics.com. The other Shadow Eyez from Milani retail for $6.99 (USD) each, so I'm expecting that these LE shades will be the same price.

Brija Cosmetics Review and !SWATCHES!

Good afternoon Zombies!

Today, I have a review for you for yet another promising up and coming indie comsmetic company called Brija Cosmetics. (Remember to click images for maximum awesome!)

From the Brija website:

Brija – Brianna Jane

As a 20 year old, I founded Brija Cosmetics because I have a passion for using natural and non-toxic skin, hair, body, and makeup products. I decided to start using natural, green products 3 years ago after realizing the effects chemical products have on our health. I want to provide another option for truly natural, mineral makeup.

I go to school full time to complete my degree in English (creative writing) with hopes to work in the publishing field. I’m also a Green Beauty Vlogger on Youtube under the username iluvjesse444. I’m incredibly grateful to be able to share my knowledge and research with those who have a passion for natural products as well.

Brija Cosmetics features inspired eyeshadow in both single and collection form, lip products, and blushes. I also plan in the future to offer other cosmetic products!

ALL products are cruelty free and vegan.

Look at these adorable labels!

Whitelighter (The Charmed Collection): Whitelighter is a light yellow gold with a white brightening base.
Bachelor Watson (Sherlock Collection): Bachelor Watson is a perfect everyday nude color - a light cream champagne inspired by John's favorite cream/grey cable knit sweater.

I received a sample; full sized lip tints come in lip balm tubes and are $6.50 each. Side note: to me, the writing on the clam shell looked like it said "Nylon", the name of the lip tint is actually "Peyton." :)

"Peyton" on my lips.  "Peyton" had a nice, smooth consistency and felt wonderful and moisturizing on my lips. The color was nice as well.

Swatches over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy!

Closeup of "Sunrise"

Here I did a look with Brave (main lid and lower lash line) and Manor (crease and upper lid)

My thoughts!

I really like the texture and consistency of the eyshadow. Everything blended nicely when swatched and was highly pigmented- alone and over a sticky base. "Consulting Detective" has tons of blue and purple sparkles throughout that I couldn't seem to photograph! It is definitely the standout in my opinion. "Comet" and "Brave" are close seconds. "Sunrise" highlighting powder blends down for a awesome duo-chromy sheen on the cheeks. I really adore this product!

I really like the "geekly" themed eyeshadow collections and the fun names based on TV shows. Brianna is also very forthcoming with the ingredients she uses in each product, which I love.

The website is a little harder to navigate than the Etsy shop, but I believe it's a work in progress and I'm excited to see how it grows and expands with time.

Full sized jars are $5.00 plus shipping or samples are available for full collections at differing prices on the website.  Check out Brija Cosmetics on Facebook as well.

Zombie Smooch: pretty aqua color with aqua sparkles

Swatches!

Face products:

I did a look with all DWM products:

DreamWorld eyeshadow over Milani primer and Darling Girl "Fluff" eyeshadow base.

I used "Hecate II L" foundation my face. I think this was almost an exact match for my skin tone and applied evenly and blended smoothly. I used "Taken at Midnight" blush as well and a touch of "Mummy Glo" for highlight on the cheeks.

Here I applied "Zombie Smooch" over Milani's "Black Cherry" lipstick. It gave the lipstick a fun blue glow.

My thoughts!

I'm always hesitant to purchase indie mineral foundation because I'm usually overwhelmed by the many choices that are offered. I asked the owner of DWM to send her choices for my skin tone (lol) and I think she hit it pretty spot on. The foundation was a dream to apply. I used a flat headed foundation brush, which allowed for perfect blending. It didn't feel cakey and covered up some slight blemishes on my skin. I used no primer or concealer on my face before foundation application.

I really like the eyeshadow as well, every color was pigmented and perfectly blended. "The Awakening" and "Shadow Wing" are my two favorite colors from the bunch. I had a lot of fun playing around with the products I've tested so far and will post more in the future once I've tried everything.

"Zombie Smooch" was the only product that was a little tricky to work with. For some reason, it didn't want to come out of the tube. I'm not sure if it's too thick for the tube it comes in but it didn't want to stick to the wand. It's a pretty color on it's own, and gives lipstick a beautiful blue sheen.

I'm really excited about DWM. They offer an amazing array of quality products and something for everyone!
