Good morning zombies!
Has it really been almost a month since my last post? *sigh* I apologize for my lack of posts. I've been busy this summer with my kids, and as you can tell, it's been affecting my blog. I still love my blog and all of you and I hope to get on a more regular posting schedule once school starts again this Fall.
Today I have Milani's new Fantastical Plumage collection swatched for you. This collection comes with 5 vibrant colors and a sweet "sprinkles effect" topcoat called Carnival. I used the nail swatch wheel for these swatches but plan on doing lots of mani's with them in the coming weeks. Follow me on Instagram @makeupzombie as that's where I post most of my looks and mani's these days!
(As always, be sure to click images for maximum awesome.)
Left to right: Carnival, Purple Martin, Blue Jay, Scarlet Ibis, Peacock, and Canary
Looks like a lot of companies are jumping on the chunky glitter band wagon these days! This is Carnival.
Nail polish colors alone: this is two coats each
Nail polish colors with Carnival on top
I adore the color Peacock. It's a lovely teal- leaning slightly more blue and it's super pigmented. Scarlet Ibis is definitely a one coat color, it's that pigmented. Most of this collection was easy to apply and pretty opaque in one coat with the exception of Peacock. It needed two coats to achieve opaque. I like the look of Carnival over each of the colors, but this top coat is really thick and it's hard to get the white chunks of glitter out of the bottle. All of the glitter wanted to clump into one area on the nail as well. I think this top coat takes a little work to get your desired effect. For me, I prefer less glitter with more of the base color peeking through.
Fantastical Plumage retails for $4.49 (Carnival is $4.99) per bottle but will vary from location. This collection is Limited Edition.
Do you see a color from this collection you adore?
