Ipsy Glam Bag! July 2015

Hey zombies!

I recently decided to renew my subscription with ipsy (if you sign up now, with that link, you won't be on a waiting list for the next 48 hours) and was able to snag the July glam bag. I'm stoked at the items I received in this month's bag. ipsy is a monthly makeup subscription service. For $10.00, you'll receive a makeup bag with 4-5 full sized or deluxe sample sized beauty products. I'll be posting the bags each month, so stay tuned to the blog. :)

This month's theme is: Summer Lovin'!

I adore the bag! So much! I'll definitely use this bag as my daily makeup bag in my purse.

But..... what was inside is what counts the most!

I received:

tarte deluxe sample of the Amazoian clay bronzer in "Park Ave. Princess": 3.0 grams
eyetini colored Swizzle Stick eyeliner in "Blue Hawaiian" (full size)
Jersey Shore Sun Mongongo anti-aging lip conditioner which in Vanilla Coconut (full size)
bellapierre Cosmetics lipstick in "P.I.N.K": 3.5 gram (full size)
Jor'el Parker roller ball perfume in "Classico": .30 fl oz (Notes: Indonesian Clove Bud, Australian Sandalwood, Moroccan Rose, French Bergamot, Indian Tuberose, Japanese Orange Flower, Lebanese Cedarwood, Turkish Cyclamen, South African Freesia)

Swatches!

I did a little research to figure out how much the products in this months bag were worth and here is the breakdown.

tarte deluxe bronzer sample: $10.00  (ballpark)
bellapierre lipstick: $19.99
MONGONGO lip conditioner: $10.00
eyetini eyeliner: $18.00
deluxe roller ball sample of Classico by Jor'el Parker: $21.00

So, as you can see, you really get a bang for your $10.00 with ipsy. I hope they continue to churn out amazing bags. The only product this month I wasn't happy with was the perfume, but only because it's not a scent I would normally wear (I'm not a fan of Tuberose notes). I''ll be passing that on to my Mom. Other than that, I'm extremely happy with this summery ipsy bag!

Have you received your July ipsy bag? What are your thoughts?

NEW Wet n' Wild "Venice Beach" eyeshadow palettes!

Happy Hump Day Zombies!

You may have noticed that I updated the blog banner (finally) for the first time in MONTHS! I am getting makeup fever once again and want to blog a lot more frequently. Cross your fingers for me. ;)

I'm excited about today's post. I have all 3 of the new (limited edition) Wet n Wild "Venice Beach" Color Icon eyeshadow palettes to show you today. I was able to find 2 of them at my local Walgreens and a friend sent me the 3rd because I wasn't able to find it in my city. Hooray for makeup friends. ;)

As the collection name suggests, all 3 of these palettes are summery and contain BRIGHT and happy colors. I, myself am picturing bathing suits in these colors and imaging the smells and sights of Venice Beach.

Boardwalk Boozing

Hemporay Solutions

High Flying Colors

SO MUCH BRIGHT!! Let's move on to swatches, shall we?!

Boardwalk Boozing

Boardwalk Boozing contains a matte bright yellow, shimmery silver, matte coral, shimmery purple, matte lime green, matte hot pink, shimmery yellow green, and a matte royal blue. My favorite color from Boardwalk Boozing is hand down the purple/blue shade in the top right. It's SO pigmented and smooth. It's an odd color in this palette as it doesn't necessarily go along with the color scheme, but I'm glad it's in there. Look how pigmented the colors are! Dat blue tho!

Hemporay Solutions

Hemporay Solutions contains a matte bright yellow, matte white, matte green, matte coral, shimmery lime green, matte hot pink, shimmery teal, and matte red. My favorite colors from Hemporary Solutions has to be the shimmery teal and the matte red. This palette has a lot of bold matte shades on the warmer side. Matte tomato red! WHAT?!  Again, the colors are pigmented and easy to blend.

High Flying Colors

High Flying Colors contains a shimmery silver, shimmery baby pink, shimmery baby blue, matte fuchsia, shimmery peacock blue, shimmery lavender, matte royal blue, matte purple with a blue undertone. No lies, High Flying Colors is my favorite palette from this collection. I love the color scheme and the beautiful purples and the pinks and blues. I think if I were only able to purchase one palette from this collection, this would be the one. Again, all of the colors are rich, pigmented and easily blend-able.

I WILL warn you that the hot pinks in these palettes do stain, so make sure you wear a base under them. Also, there are a few "duplicate" colors from one palette to the next such as the matte yellow, shimmery silver, hot pinks, and the royal blue.

I'm very pleased with this collection. The last few color icon palettes I picked up from Wet n Wild left something to be desired, so I'm happy to see that the colors are just as pigmented outside of the palette as they are in the palette. Wet n Wild is typically sold in your local Walgreens, Walmart, and Kmart or online. Limited Edition items are not usually found on their website, however.

Have you been able to snag any of the palettes from the "Venice Beach" collection?

New Fyrinnae Swatches!

Happy Tuesday zombies!

Today I have some new and 'new to me' Fyrinnae swatches! As most of you know, Fyirnnae is one of my favorite "handmade eyeshadow" companies. They've long been my favorite and still to this day amaze me with the new shades they create. I decided to pick up some of the colors I don't already own and some that are new for the Summer 2015 season.

*Be sure to click images for maximum awesome!

I ordered mini sizes of the following:

Nepenthe
Capybara (new June 2015)
Conjured Tempest (new Feb. 2015)
Peppermint Vodka
Midnight Dreary
Serene Highness (new Feb. 2015)
Zanzibar (new May 2015)
Bawdy Librarian
Wizard's Wedding Cake (arcane magic)
Debonair
Ailurophile (new Feb. 2015)
Birb of Paradise (new June 2015)
Celestial Beauty was my free sample (new June 2015)

I love Fyrinnae's new business cards!

Descriptions per Fyrinnae website:

Celestial Beauty: A rich blend of shimmering violet and blue is enhanced with a touch of bronze sparkle.
Nepenthe: Vivid, metallic Byzantium purple, unlike any of our existing shades.
Conjured Tempest: Deep murky green with a vibrant pink-purple highlight.
Peppermint Vodka: Lush, rich, shimmering burgundy enhanced with copper sparkle.
Midnight Dreary: Velvety, vibrant, shimmering blue is enhanced with gold sparkle.
Capybara: Designed somewhat like our Serendipity to give a complex everyday look with one shade, this shadow is a muted blend of pink and red hues over a transparent base (which may appear dark gray depending on application).
Zanzibar: Vibrant deep turquoise topped with a greenish gold highlight and an overall metallic finish.
Bawdy Librarian: This is no basic brown! This, my good guys and dolls, is a lush, shimmery, golden brown rich with gold sparkle. Cameras cannot capture its true beauty; you must get to know the shade in person. Warm-toned, but would work well on many skintones.
Wizard's Wedding Cake: Bold icy blue shimmer, which changes to pink closer to light or at an angle, is set on a deep chocolate brown base.
Serene Highness: Medium cool violet topped with a vibrant highlight of varying green hues (shimmer, not sparkle).
Debonair: Warm, shimmery lilac graced with a glowing coppery highlight.
Ailurophile: An elegant blend of soft purple and gold in various tones. Slightly metallic finish with a touch of small-particle sparkle.
Birb of Paradise: Glowing royal blue tops a velvety deep brown base hue. Shown swatched over regular primer, but over a sticky base the blue will be more prominent and metallic. makes a great liner.

Indoor SWATCHES!

I used Pixie Epoxy as a base (also from Fyrinnae.)

Outdoor

My absolute favorite from this lot is 'Serene Highness'. I'm a sucker for purple/blue duochrome eyeshadow it's followed closely by 'Conjured Tempest.' This shade looks inconspicuous in the jar, but once swatched, it takes on a whole life of it's own. It's a light taupe with a lovely purple sheen. I'm also very excited about 'Birb of Paradise' seeing as how I don't have a color at all like it in my collection. It's a rich navy blue that is smooth and lovely. 'Nepenthe', 'Zanzibar' and 'Bawdy Librarian' also pack a punch and make me happy! I must say that it is a must to use a base with Fyrinnae's pigments. Also, make sure you pat them on your lids as opposed to brushing them on. The color and glitter payoff is much greater that way.

With this purchase, I now own 111 Fyrinnae eyeshadow shades. I'm not at all ashamed of this!

Do you see something in this bunch that you adore? Full sized Fyrinnae eyeshadows are $6.75 each and mini sizes (1/3 of a tsp) are $2.75. The mini sizes are full of product and in all the years I've been blogging, I don't think I've gone through an entire mini sized jar. A little bit of Fyrinnae goes a LONG way. ;)
